Millennium Bank's Internet Banking clients are able to perform transactions with a higher security level, using a newly implemented authorization method, through SMS. This is the first time the SMS authorization system is implemented in Romania.
After having filled in the transfer details within the Internet Banking application, clients receive an SMS on the mobile phone they have registered with the bank's system, containing the seven digits authorization code. The transaction will be performed only after the client fills in the authorization code received on their mobile phone. The code is unique for every transaction performed through the Internet Banking service.
Besides the security advantage, the SMS authorization method is also very easy to use and does not imply any other device. The clients only need a computer with internet connection and their mobile phone in order to perform operations through the bank's Internet Banking service.
Millennium Bank's Internet Banking service is fully available 24/7 for both individuals and companies. It allows customers to administrate all the products they have contracted from the bank. The service provides access to all the accounts, deposits, cards or loans and the clients can perform any transaction – pay bills and loans instalments, create deposits etc. The fees for the transactions operated through Internet Banking are 50% lower than those performed in the branches.
The service also allows the clients to predefine beneficiaries' payment details for future transfers, to modify the card PIN and the ATM and POS transaction limits. The service can be accessed from any type of computers, including Macintosh, using any version of a wide range of internet browsers.
Approximately 60% of Millennium Bank's clients have also contracted the Internet Banking service. 80% of the number of transactions performed by the bank's clients during December 2009 was made through the Internet Banking service, while their volume amounted to almost RON 195 million.
