Astra Asigurari wins insurance contract with Henri Coanda international airport worth lei 500,000

The contract was given to Astra on February 15, following an open auction with another insurer inscribed. The value of the contract was first estimated at 844,640 lei.

Astra Asigurari reported last year gross premiums written (GPW) of 795.8 million lei, 22 percent up from 2008, according to preliminary results.

The company is majority owned by Nova Trade group, with 72.68 percent, while the Austrian group Uniqa has a 27 percent stake, for which it paid 10 million euros in 2005.
