Investments in economy decline 18.7% in H1

The investments made in the national economy fell 18.7 percent in H1 2010 versus H1 2009, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.
In Q2 2010, the investments made in the national economy were down 9.8 percent versus Q2 2009.
Compared with Q2 2009, the works on new constructions were down 17.5 percent in Q2 2010, the investments in equipment, including transport means, were down 1.6 percent and other expenditures were down 0.1 percent.
According to the INS, one may remark a 2.7 percent rise in the share of equipment (including transport means) in the total of investments, and a 0.9 percent rise of the investments in other expenditures. The share of investments in new constructions fell 3.6 percent.
The investments materialized in new constructions, in H1 2010, totaled 11.511 billion lei, representing 51.2 percent of total versus 52.3 percent in H1 2009. The investments in equipment and transport means totaled 8.902 billion lei, representing 39.6 percent of total, versus 39.5 percent in H1 2009.
