SOCIETATEA CIVILĂ DE AVOCATI "SCHOENHERR SI ASOCIATII" - 4 June 2008
European law firm Schoenherr and Romanian law firm Ciucan & Asociatii have together advised Rompetrol on the development of the prestigious Smart City office complex in Bucharest. The class A office building will be an addition to Bucharest’s emerging sky-line: it will include a 110.7-metre high tower, which will be Rom-petrol's new headquarters.
A group of investors made up of IMMORENT (part of Erste Group), The Rompetrol Group (TRG) and the Patriciu Family entered a partnership to develop Smart City - an urbane complex estimated at EUR 300 million. The project’s financing will be assured by Er-ste Bank. Smart City will be positioned in northern Bucharest near to the city centre, and it will cover 150.000 m² of constructed area. The complex is made up of class A office buildings (50.000 m²), and high standard shopping and residential areas (100.000 m²).
Bucharest-based Schoenherr partner Markus Piuk commented: “We are very pleased to have been part of this headline transac-tion. Just as with Sun Plaza and Cefin Barbu Vacarescu, we are proud to be involved in the development of a landmark building complex that will change the skyline of the city.”
The Schoenherr team consisted of Roxana Gologan (real estate), Carmen Muntean (corporate) and Cristina Pana (competition), while from Ciucan & Asociatii name partner Emilia Ciucan and partner Adrian Udrescu worked on the transaction.
