DHL named official logistics partner of Romanian Rugby Federation

DHL and The Romanian Rugby Federation today announced a 2 years partnership meant to support the participation of the Romanian National Team at the world's largest sports events this year in New Zeeland and to promote this 'fair play' sport among Romanian young generation.
The Romanian National Rugby Team has reached a great performance by qualifying for the last 12 years consecutively to the Rugby World Cup. After a hard season in the Rugby European Nations Cup, the Romanian team ranked 3rd in its group and qualified at the RWC 2011. Thanked to this great team, Romania is once again among the twenty leading rugby nations qualified to compete for over 7 weeks in New Zealand, the host country.

'Although Rugby is not a very well known sport in Romania and not many feel its beauty, lately we have managed to raise awareness on it in Romania and to make more people come towards it. We aim to obtain good results that we are hardly working for and to win more and more supporters, with the occasion of our new sustainable partnership with DHL Romania' said Alin Petrache, RRF president.
As for the DHL Express and Rugby World Cup 2011 Official Partnership, it consist in approximately 200 movements of equipment that will take place during the tournament, with an expected 2 to 6 tones per move. DHL will transport this equipment as well as store and deliver uniforms and official equipment from training grounds to playing venues around New Zealand. It is expected DHL trucks will drive a total of almost 30,000 kilometers over the course of the Tournament. DHL will be also responsible for ticket distribution as well as for delivering of competing team's equipment.
