COMPANIA NATIONALA DE TRANSPORTURI AERIENE ROMANE TAROM S.A. - 8 February 2007
TAROM air carrier will report a gross profit worth $7 million in 2007 compared to about $3 million last year when it transported 1.3-1.4 million passengers, the company's general manager Gabriel Dumitrescu on Wednesday announced.
''This year we hope to report a gross profit worth $7 million on a turnover worth $300 million. However, the most important aspect is the fact that the profit margin will go up 2.5 percent, whereas the average reported by airlines will exceed 1 percent,'' said Gabriel Dumitrescu.
According to TAROM's plans, the company will transport some 1.5 million passengers this year, 1.8 million in 2008 with an annual growth of some 10 percent.
TAROM directly or through code-share agreements operates flights to Vienna,
Paris, Larnaca, Munich, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, Budapest, London, Athens, Salonic, Chisinau, Prague, Warsaw, Moscow, Istanbul, Amman, Beirut, Damasc, Tel Aviv, Cairo and Dubai. The flights are mostly carried out from the Henri Coanda airport of Bucharest, but also from the airports in Timisoara, Cluj and Sibiu.
