Mobexpert to invest 28 million euros in relocation

Mobexpert group, the largest player on the domestic furniture market will invest 28 million euros in an area near Targu Mures in order to move its production and logistics units to a new industrial park located 15 kilometres out of the city, daily Ziarul Financiar reports on Tuesday.
'The decision to invest was made with a view to ensuring production growth and to maintain quality standards. We estimate an over 50 percent increase in productivity by 2010, along with an approximately 50 percent increase in the production of the 4 factories. The project backs this development and will provide modern industrial space,' daily Ziarul Financiar quotes chairman of Mobexpert Dan Sucu as saying.
ConfoMex, StudioMex, IleforMex, MuresMex and the logistic platform operated by Mobexpert in Targu Mures will be relocated to the new site, which is expected to become operational within the year. The group has 100,000 square metres inside the industrial park in Targu Mures, more than 50,000 square metres of which will be used for building the production and logistic platforms. A 50-year lease has been taken out on the plot of land. 'Part of the money for the investment (which is worth 28 million euros) will come from the sale of the land on which the former sites were based,' the aforementioned daily quotes Sucu as saying. He added that the sale of the land is not scheduled to happen anytime soon, but is included in the medium-term plan of the company. He also said that the surface areas of the old factories were comparable to the new areas located in the industrial park. According to real estate agencies in the city, land in Targu Mures sells for 30-50 euros per square metre.
