There are a number of elements that help you analyse a website. Each one of them or all together can reveal the habits of its visitors and their profiles. Considering a single evaluation item, for example the traffic, could be irrelevant. It is highly possible that the target audience could not be among the website's traffic and thus it wouldn't be interested in the given information. Therefore, we would like to introduce to you, the definitions of three statistics that worth to be taken into account before placing your ad on a website.
1. Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page visits (i.e. visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page). Bounce Rate mirrors the interest of the website's visitors and the quality of the information you may find there. A high Bounce Rate generally indicates that site entrance (landing) pages aren't relevant to your visitors.
At IBP Real Estate this ratio is only 1.73%
2. Average Pageviews is another way of measuring visit quality and represents the average number of pages viewed by a visitor during one website access. A high Average Pageviews number suggests that visitors interact extensively with your website. Average Pageviews results from one or both of the following factors: (1) appropriately targeted traffic meaning that the visitors who entered your website found here what they hoped to find (2) high quality content effectively presented on the site. Conversely, a low Average Pageviews indicates that the traffic coming to the site has not been appropriately targeted and that the site does not deliver what was promised to the visitor.
At IBP Real Estate the average pageviews is 8.47 per visit
3. News vs. Returning represents the ratio of new visitors versus visitors that constantly access the website. A high number of new visitors suggests that you are successful at driving traffic to your site while a high number of return visitors suggests that the site content is engaging enough for visitors to come back.
At IBP Real Estate this proportion is 65% vs 35%
* The above mentioned IBP Real Estate statistics are for 1 January – 15 April 2009.
