Romexpo to host 30 own exhibitions in 2009
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 29 Ianuarie 2009
The Romexpo exhibition centre will host nearly 30 self-made exhibitions in 2009 and five organised in cooperation with its traditional partner Euroexpo, to which 10 crowd-drawing independent specialist events will add, Romexpo Fairs and Exhibition Director General Doru Simovici told Agerpres in a recent interview.
'We expect 2009 to be a rich year in exhibitions and the variety of themes on display - construction equipment and materials; air heating, refrigeration and conditioning equipment; environmental protection equipment and technologies; renewable energy; interior design and finishing materials; food products and equipment; furniture; wood products and accessories; agricultural and animal farming equipment and products; military hardware; tourism; medical equipment and tools - will satisfy the market's appetite for novelty in reference fields. Together with Euroexpo, we will organise two editions of Kidex, Print Show, Advertising Show and Flexpo Show. We will also play host to 10 exhibitions that has enjoyed great public and specialist success. Among them I would like to mention the CERF electronics fair, the Marriage Fair, 4TUNING, the SMAEB motorcycling show, the GAUDEAMUS book fair and the fair of church objects,' said Simovici.
Among the 2009 novelties, there will be a new approach of the BIFE international show of furniture, interior design, forestry and wood processing tools and equipment that will entail mounting two distinct shows - BIFE Equipment and BIFE Furniture.
The exhibition season starts off in the second part of February with the 14th edition of Modexpo, an international exhibition of textiles, clothing, leather goods, furs, footwear and leather manufacturing, February 19-22. One day after, Rofrancize, an international show of business franchises, will take the stage, organised in cooperation with CHR Consulting SRL. The event will take place February 20-22.
'At the same time with mounting the exhibitions, Romexpo continues its investment projects. Although the world crisis is felt in Romania as well, we believe our investment project is a bold one, given the circumstances. We are talking about two new exhibition wards that are already shaping up and which we hope to commission in the spring of 2010. The two wards will cover 32,000 sq.m. This is an ambitious project for the Romanian fair and exhibition industry, which measures up to the highest relevant international standards. In addition, we are also contemplating upgrading the existing wards so that in time we may fully change the face of the Exhibition Centre,' Simovici told Agerpres.
Improved service quality will be visible first of all in the logistics to be made available by Romexpo to exhibitors once the two new wards are commissioned, both of which will offer excellent display conditions.
'On the other hand, we are focused on increasing the international exposure of the events by attracting an increasingly larger number of foreign visitors. Last but not least, we are considering identifying new partners by enlarging cooperation with Russian and other ex-Soviet markets and switching attention to markets with huge potentials, such as China and India,' said the Romexpo official.
'Whereas Romexpo would be called a champion of exhibitions in the years before, a word to describe Romexpo in an objective way in 2009 is hard to find, because each of the events we organise is emblematic of the field it represents. In other words, construction specialists will once again name the three-component Construct Expo for construction developers, ambiance and equipment the champion of the year. The champion of the agricultural specialists will certainly be INDAGRA Food and INDAGRA Farm, the same as the TIB Bucharest international goods fair will undoubtedly top the preferences of industry specialists. As for the public at large, they will certainly stay loyal to the TIBCO consumer goods fair, a fair for the entire family, a traditional event that draws huge crowds each year,' said Simovici.
Romexpo is also considering cooperating with public bodies in 2009 to stage official participations of Romania in trade fairs and exhibitions abroad. Partnerships will be sought with Romania's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the county chambers of commerce as well as with professional and employers' associations to promote their members on world markets.
'Besides the calendar of official participation of Romania in trade fairs and exhibitions abroad, Romexpo has its own calendar of participation in traditional trade fairs, including those in Moscow, Plovdiv, Belgrade, Damascus and Zagreb. One of or main objectives regards developing cooperation with other trade fair organisers in Europe and on other continents,' the Romexpo director general told Agerpres.
