Excises for tobacco and alcohol grow in 2009 at 2012 level

Excises for tobacco and alcohol will grow to the level which should have been reached by 2012, according to the calendar established by Romania with the European Commission, government sources declared.
The version of increasing excises for utility products, such as fuel and gas was not taken into account.The president of BNS, Dumitru Costin, declared on Wednesday at the end of talks held at Cotroceni Palace that the possibility of setting earlier dates on the calendar for the increase of excises for cigarettes, energy and gas from 1 January 2010 to 1 January 2009.
