Negoita brothers to invest more than EUR 150 M in a 1,000-room seaside hotel

The Negoita brothers, the owners of the largest hotel in Romania, are keeping their promises, planning to build a hotel per year in the next five or six years.
Thus, the owners of the Pro Confort group plan to build a hotel that would have more than 1,000 rooms, a project that would call for an investment of EUR 150-180 M.
‘I want to build a 1,000-room hotel at the seaside if I'll be able to find a plot of land or to form a public-private partnership with the local authorities or with the Ministry of Tourism. The hotel would be connected to a mall, would have swimming pools, conference rooms, Spa and restaurants. I told the Minister of Tourism (Elena Udrea - editor's note) about my intention' Ionut Negoita stated for Mediafax.
According to Negoita, the construction works on the hotel could start next year if an available plot of land is found. The most suitable area would be the one located between Mamaia and Navodari resorts. In order to expand the market share of the hotel brands that he owns Negoita plans to offer franchises too.
‘We will join the two names, Confort and Rin, and we will try to sell them as franchise to some hotels. We will come up with an offer and we will approach the hotel operators' the businessman pointed out.
