Radu Berceanu: Railway between Bucharest North Station and Otopeni to be opened in a few days from now

The railway between Bucharest North Station and Otopeni Airport, long of some 20 km, can be used in a few days' time, said, on Tuesday, Transport minister Radu Berceanu.

'After a few verifications, the railway can be used, in a few days time. From now on, travelers can buy tickets for Otopeni, from the localities they take the train from. For example, Iasi-Otopeni can be written on the train ticket, ' said Berceanu.

He added that a ticket between the North Station and Otopeni will cost 6 lei, or 1.4 euros, and it includes transport by bus from Corbeanca to the airport, and the travel will last between 40 and 45 minutes.

'The investment has been very low, as, instead of the underground linking Victoria Square with Otopeni, that will cost around two billion euros, we have preferred simpler solutions, good for the moment, ' said Berceanu.
