Teraplast: Net profit worth almost 20m lei in 2008

Terplast company, the biggest processor of PVC profiles in Romania, reported in 2008 a net profit worth 19.47 million lei, up 19.33 percent as against the previous year, according to information released by the company.

The yield of the net profit grew last year up to 9.96 percent compared to 8.78 percent in 2007, despite the unfavourable conditions of the market of constructions in the last quarter of last year.

Teraplast's turnover totalled at the end of 2008 some 195.43 million lei, up 5.11 percent as against 2007, when the indicator stood at 185.79 million lei.

At the end of 2009, own capitals of the company stood at 139.387 million lei, the business doubling as against the end of the previous fiscal exercise. Total revenues of the company stood at 210.61 million lei in 2008 and the expenses were of 188.70 million lei. The company had at the end of 2008 debts worth 22.98 million lei and claims of 40.58 billion lei.

Teraplast has been unfolding since last year a sweeping investments programme, which entails the relocation of most production facilities of Bistrita to Saratel, where the company will develop an industrial park on a n area of 22 ha. The main goals of Teraplast in 2009 are the completion of relocation of plants in the industrial park of Saratel, expansion of portfolio of products and development of divisions such as the windows division.

Teraplsat company is part of Teraplast Bistrita Group, which also includes subsidiaries Plastsistem and Politub. Teraplast is the biggest processor of PVC in Romania, Plastsistem produces sandwich panels and metallic structures for commercial and industrial constructions, whereas Politub produces polyethylene pipes for the networks of natural gas and water.

Starting July 2, 2008, Teraplast company was listed with the BVB. The company's main shareholders at the benchmark date, August 31, 2008, are Dorel Goia (33.16 percent of the shares), Emanoil Viciu (20.56 percent) and SIF Banat-Crisana (11.39 percent).
