Romania's financial companies or SIFs plunge 6.2% on BSE at closing bell, on a market going down

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) posted significant drops of more than 2 percent on most indexes at closing, with the financial companies losing an average 6.2 percent, on a slight inch in liquidity generated by transactions with bonds.
Deals Friday increased 5.7 percent to 13.89 million lei (3.24 million euros) from 13.15 million lei in the previous session. The BET index of the ten best companies on BSE dipped 2.48 percent to 2,164.79 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies lowered 1.64 percent to 1,436.83.
The BET-FI index assessing the evolution of the five financial companies known as SIFs plunged 6.20 percent to 9,813.93 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna slipped 2.66 percent to 4,172.66.The BET-XT index assessing the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse depreciated 3.67 percent to 205.21 and the BET-NG index reflecting the evolution of the ten power companies decreased 2.08 percent to 321.71.
European bourses had a mixed evolution at the closing hour in Bucharest. The FTSE index in London slipped 0.30 percent to 4,189.60 and the DAX index in Frankfurt inched 0.24 percent to 4,418.20. The CAC40 index in Paris climbed 1.41 percent to 3,006.08.
Financial company SIF Moldova (SIF2) was the most liquid stock today, with deals of 1.39 million lei and plummeted 9.31 percent to 0.37 lei. SIF Oltenia (SIF5) went down 3.81 percent to 0.429 lei, SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) tumbled 6.54 percent to 0.486 lei, SIF Transilvania (SIF3) plunged 6.75 percent to 0.235 lei and SIF Muntenia (SIF4) fell 5.47 percent to 0.467 lei.
Second lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) decreased 2.78 percent to 5.25 lei, fifth bank by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) slumped 1.86 percent to 0.79 lei and Austrian lender Erste Bank (EBS) lost 3.53 percent to 41 lei. Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) depreciated 3.85 percent to 0.025 lei and Romania's top oil company Petrom (SNP) cheapened 2.61 percent to 0.149 lei. As many as 2,776 securities were traded on the bonds market today, worth 5.15 million lei.
