FinMin Pogea: The new Tax Code will be ready by March 31

The measures to be included in the new Tax Code were not taken into account when the 2009 Budget was built, because they concern the period immediately ahead, Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea told the joint debate on Friday of Parliament's committees on budget and monetary affairs in relation to the draft 2009 Budget.
He mentioned that the new Tax Code will include a luxury tax and it will be over by March 31.
Pogea added that as far as the observance and predictability of the new Tax Code are concerned, the new Government wants the code to no longer be modified and be made known long time in advance.
He pointed out that the reason why he wants the Tax Code to be amended regards the cancellation of some confusion he argued would perpetrate 'economic robbery.'
