Plastic product maker Prodplast sees net profit up 17.2% y/y in 2008 to EUR 1.4m,on hike in business

Romanian plastic product maker Prodplast Bucuresti (PPL) booked a net profit of 5.15 million lei (1.4 million euros) last year, up 17.2 percent compared to the previous, following higher turnover, the financial results sent to the local bourse show.
The company recorded a net profit of 4.39 million lei in 2007.
Prodplast business added 2.7 percent in 2008 to 66.13 million lei, from 64.4 million lei in 2007. Its revenues stood at 72.86 million lei, 6.16 percent higher over the 68.6 million lei posted in 2007. Expenses increased 5.45 percent last year, from 63.45 million lei to 66.9 million lei.
Prodplast has a share capital of 37.85 million lei divided into 37.85 million shares at a face value of 1 leu. The main shareholders are the company Nord with a 27.06 percent holding, investment fund Broadhurst Investments with 12.61 percent, as well as financial companies SIF Oltenia and SIF Banat-Crisana, owning 10.86 percent and 8.36 percent respectively.
The company's capitalization is 124.9 million lei for a 3.30 lei trading price established on September 1. Prodplast is listed on the second tier of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) under the symbol PPL.
