BRD is now authorized to administer an optional private pension fund
NewsIn - 19 Februarie 2009
BRD Pensii received today the OK to administer an optional private pension fund with an average risk degree, the company already managing the ninth fund from the private mandatory segment (Pillar II), announced the market watchdog CSSPP.
BRD Societate de Administrare a Fondurilor de Pensii Private SA becomes the tenth administrator on the third pillar, of the optional private pensions and will thus be able to initiate the procedures to obtain the authorization for the BRD Medio optional fund, with an average risk degree.
The third pillar is now comprised of nine administrators, among which ING Asigurari de Viata, Aviva Asigurari de Viata, BCR Asigurari de Viata and Allianz-Tiriac Pensii Private.
The CSSPP president Mircea Oancea estimates that the number of optional pension funds could reach 13-15 at the end of the year.
The pension system was reformed last year in May. Apart from the traditionally state-collected pensions (Pillar I) and the private ones (Pillar III), a new type appeared, the mandatory pensions privately managed (Pillar II).
