First ship manufactured this year in Drobeta Turnu Severin, operational

Severnav ship yard of Drobeta Turnu Severin (western Romania) completed works on a cargo ship called 'Bieldiep', with a capacity of 5,499 tons.

The shipyard's technical director Valentin Popa said that this first ship built this year was made on order for a Dutch company that would use it to transport container freight.

The cargo in 107 meters long and 15.20 meters wide. According to Popa, the ship builders in Drobeta Turnu Severin have orders for the entire 2009 and are to deliver nine ships.
