SME minister : We export or we die

'We export or we die,' this was the message delivered by the Romanian Minister for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Trade and Business Environment Constantin Nita, at an annual conference of the economic operators from the Ministry's foreign network.

In the opening of the meeting, the Minister stated Romania needs to promote the 'Made in Romania' concept and not to remain blocked in various concepts and declarations.

'The crisis may be an opportunity for the SMEs, on the condition we sell and make profit. We export or we die right now, with our economy needing to benefit immediately from credits and guarantees,' Nita said.

On the same occasion, the minister underlined it was no more than his personal opinion, which is different from the government's, that the budget will not be able to resist on revenues to stand at only 31 percent, with the flat tax needing to be increased.

With regards to the foreign trade, Minister Nita showed there is need such relations make the emergent markets be analyzed, offering China as an example, with this country's exports to Romania being 10 times higher compared with Romania's exports to China.
