Government okays methodological norms regarding holiday vouchers

Romania's Government on Wednesday okayed the methodological norms regarding the holiday vouchers and established that the manner in which they are granted was decided upon, through the regulation of internal order, by the employers that earned profit or revenues in the previous fiscal year, along with the legally set up trade unions or the employees' representatives.

The parties mutually agree on the number of employees who can annually receive holiday vouchers and the amounts to be granted, taking into account both the employees' financial means and the categories of beneficiaries, reads a Governmental newsroom's release to Agerpres.

The employees who are given nominal holiday vouchers are the only persons entitled to use them during the period mentioned on them.

The beneficiaries are forbidden to sell the holiday vouchers, to get any change in case the amount they have to pay is smaller than the voucher's value, or to use the vouchers for buying other services than the ones the law stipulates.

The vouchers can pay for tourist services such as accommodation, meals, transport, balneary treatment and entertainment.
