Prospective IMF loan to enter exclusively BNR's reserve
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 10 Martie 2009
A prospective loan from the International Monetary Fund will be designed exclusively for the currency reserve of the central bank, said on Tuesday adviser to the governor of the National Bank of Romania, Adrian Vasilescu.
'Considering an IMF agreement would be concluded and Romania would receive a loan by this body, in no circumstances the funds could go to the private sector. The loan from the International Monetary Fund will be exclusively bound for the foreign currency reserve of the National Bank,' Adrian Vasilescu told Agerpres.
The adviser to the Governor of the National bank of Romania told a TV broadcast about a prospective loan from the IMF that Romania has a wide experience with the IMF and there have always been many stages. A delegation comes to us, we go to them and according to the terminology of the IMF a letter of intent must exist and according to this letter of intent the Fund call us. We haven't yet reached that stage,' said Adrian Vasilescu.
