Romania's financial companies SIF gain 1.5% on BSE at opening bell, after trading was resumed

The sector of the five financial companies known as SIF added 1.5 percent in the first hour on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) after shares resumed trading after 45-minute suspending owing to the Finance Ministry's decision to change an order issued by capital market watchdog CNVM.
Romania's Public Finance Ministry (MFP) approved of the amendment of an order from CNVM which imposed the five SIF to register the assets depreciation in the profit and losses account, a move which would have let the five financial companies with empty pockets.
The order is still unchanged, but will be analyzed today, according to CNVM. After this modification, the five SIF will be able to adjust the assets depreciation from their own capitals and to keep the profits recorded in 2008.
Liquidity on BSE stood at 2.14 million lei (498.829 euros) this morning, despite the SIFs suspension.
The BET index of the ten best companies on the market grew 0.70 percent to 2,014.38 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies added 0.49 percent to 1,295.74.
The BET-FI index tracking the five financial companies known as SIF hiked 1.48 percent to 9,323.94 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna rose 1.58 percent to 3,700.65.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks on the capital market nudged up 1.08 percent to 190.53 and the BET-NG index of the ten power companies inched 0.26 percent to 316.94.
Second lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) was the most liquid stock today with deals of 686,834 lei and increased 0.67 percent to 4.48 lei. Fifth bank by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) advanced 1.59 percent to 0.64 lei.
Electricity transporter Transelectrica (TEL) idled at 8.60 lei, while oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) slipped 0.33 percent to 0.03 lei.
As for the financial companies, SIF Transilvania (SIF3) climbed 3.48 percent to 0.2380 lei and SIF Moldova (SIF2) jumped 3.51 percent to 0.2950 lei.
