Most projects selected for ERDF financing belong to Romania

Romania holds the first place among the 16 partner countries in the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme with 37 out of the first 42 projects selected for financing, the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing reports.
According to a release of the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing, the maximal value of the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme (ERDF) that will be earmarked for projects is of 75 million euros, the overall budget of Romanian partners being of some 12 million euros.
Within the first call, projects have been submitted on all the four priority axes of the programme, the biggest interest from Romanian beneficiaries being in the Priority Axis no 1 - Support of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme unfolds over 2007-2013 and has an overall budget of 245.111 million euros. The ERDF funds cooperation projects among 16 countries of South East Europe in fields such as: support of innovation and entrepreneurship, protection and improvement of environment, improvement of accessibility, development of transnational synergies of areas with potential.
The next project will be released this autumn.
