Holiday Inn, Radisson and Sheraton to open hotels in Romanian market, in 2010

Bucharest will have a Holiday Inn hotel while Radisson is expanding in Brasov (160 km north of Bucharest) and Sheraton plans to open a hotel in Cluj Napoca (central), all in 2010, STR Global consulting Company's sales manager Bernadette Koltai said on Tuesday
After Bucharest, Radission will open another hotel in Brasov, most likely in 2010.Sheraton will be in Cluj in 2012, while Bucharest will have a Holiday Inn hotel of the Intercontinental chain, in 2010, STR Global official stressed.Bucharest already has 5-star brand hotels such as Marriott, Hilton, Radisson, and Hyatt, Sheraton and Le Meridien are also expected.
Wyndham, present in Romania through brands like Ramada or Howard Johnson, eyes the secondary towns, Ramada has already opened hotels in Brasov, Sibiu and Iasi.Starwood tourism giant, the owner of brands such as Sheraton and Le Meridien plan to have a Sheraton Hotel built in Cluj Napoca, and it likewise attentively look to Bucharest.At the same time, the Italian Boscolo Hotels chain that mainly locates its hotels in the posh areas of Europe's capital cities, put Bucharest on its projects list, too.Luxury brands such as Ritz or Regent have postponed so far, the opening hotels in Bucharest, due to the global economic climate.
Currently Bucharest's 5-star hotel market is divided among eight brands, Marriott, Radisson SAS, Hilton, Intercontinental, Howrad Johnson, Crowne Plaza, Capsa House and Carol Park, which makes the demand in hotel rooms to be met in the coming four years, the 4-star hotels being more in demand, and it is partially covered the Rin Hotel, and 1 and 3-star hotels.
