Romania's core bourse BSE rises 3.4% at opening bell, on high demand for BRD and Petrom shares

The Bucharest Stock Exchange hiked more than 3 percent on most indexes this morning and shares belonging to second lender by assets BRD SocGen and top oil company Petrom sponged the highest volumes on the market, pushing the total liquidity to 3.17 million lei.
The BET index measuring the ten best companies on the capital market nudged up 3.39 percent to 2,374.42 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies climbed 3.65 percent to 1,560.53.
The BET-FI index of the five financial companies known as SIF added 3.03 percent to 10,395.89 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna hiked 4.98 percent to 4,788.12.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies gained 3.43 percent to 223.22 and the BET-NG index of the ten power companies advanced 2.57 percent to 354.93.
American bourses closed down the first session of the week, as players on the markets cashed some profits. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index dipped 1.65 percent to 7,278.38 and the Nasdaq index lost 1.77 percent to 1,457.27. Standard & Poor's 500 index lowered 1.98 percent to 768.54.
Shares of BRD SocGen (BRD) were the most liquid during the opening session with deals of 906,000 lei and jumped 4.96 percent to 6.35 lei. Petrom grew 3.95 percent to 0.158 lei, on deals of 811,200 lei.
Fifth bank by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) climbed 5.96 percent to 0.80 lei and Austrian lender Erste Bank (EBS) boosted 7.63 percent to 55 lei.
Financial company SIF Moldova (SIF2) increased 5.46 percent to 0.386 lei, SIF Oltenia (SIF5) rose 4.65 percent to 0.45 lei, SIF Muntenia (SIF4) stepped up 3.06 percent to 0.505 lei and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) added 3 percent to 0.48 lei.
Electricity transporter Transelectrica (TEL) gained 2.07 percent to 9.85 lei and shares of Antibiotice Iasi (ATB) advanced 1.75 percent to 0.408 lei.
