International bidding for Romanian tourism brand creation

Ministry of Tourism initiated on Monday the public acquisition procedure as for Romania's Tourism Brand services implementation, the contract going to be adjudicated through an international tender till the end of April, Ziarul financiar daily reports.
'The tender announcement for the creation of Romania's tourism national brand will be published in the international newspapers, till the end of March and through 20 days since it was made public we expect the offers. We do not address to the Romanian market because none of the domestic companies is fulfilling conditions provided by the task book', said Stefan Lungu, communications director in the Ministry of Tourism.
He added that the creation of the tourism brand will involve some two million euros and for this project will be selected just specialized companies in brand consultancy and not full service communication agencies.
One of the mandatory conditions to take part in the bidding is the interested companies having already created a national brand or a national tourism brand. 'Moreover, the average turnover on the last three years of the participants must equal at least the maximum amount allocated to the project, respectively two million euros. As well, the companies had to run a similar project whose value would exceed 30 percent of the value of creating Romania's tourism brand', pointed out the Ministry of Tourism representative.
According to him, participants in the bidding can conclude partnerships ahead of the qualifying stage.
After the winner of the bidding is selected till the end of April, the stage of effectively creation of the brand is to follow, to be finalized in September this year.
'Another bidding will be organized in the autumn to designate the company due to promote the tourism brand', communications director with the Ministry of Tourism also said.
Creation and promotion of Romania's national tourism brand will finally cost some 75 million euros.
The task book for the international bidding was conceived at the request of the Ministry of Tourism by a consortium made of the International Advertising Association, the Romanian Association for Public Relations Professionals and the Union of Romanian Advertising Agencies, stressed the newspaper.
