Raiffeisen Leasing finances contracts worth 191M euros in 2008

Raiffeisen Leasing IFN SA financed 3,000 agreements totaling 191 million euros in 2008, less than in 2007 when figures stood at 261 million euros.

The drop was bring about the development in the Romanian economy against the background of the deterioration of the international economic situation, mainly in the Q4 of 2008.

Equipment financing posed for 22 percent, vehicles for 75 percent, and the property leasing for 3 percent in 2008. Raiffeisen Leasing's active portfolio amounts to 291 million euros and numbers 12,500 agreements in process.

The Company plans to stay close and permanently communicate with all its clients and to monitor the market's development, in 2009. To implement steps of streamlining its activity and a wise costs management are important priorities for Raiffeisen Leasing, this year. In the respect, the Company will soon use the Charisma application developed together with Total Soft, which is to lead to the efficient management of the flows for the approval and management of the leasing agreements.

Raiffeisen Leasing's service offer includes financing instruments for sectors such as car making, equipment and real estate. Its clients are mainly legal persons, ranging from Small and Medium Size Companies to corporations, multinationals and municipalities. Raiffeisen Leasing has nationwide coverage, with branches in 16 big Romanian cities.

Set up in July 2002 Raiffeisen Leasing IFN SA is equally owned by Raiffeisen Leasing International GmbH and Raiffeisen Bank SA. Raiffeisen Leasing joined the Financial Companies Association in Romania (ALB) in 2004.
