River-going ship is launched in Orsova

The third river-going ship made this year by shipbuilders was launched on Tuesday at the shipyard in Orsova (south-western Romania).
The managing director of the shipyard, Engineer Constantin Badoiu, DSc, told Agerpres that the barge, which was launched on the Danube, was type C 207, 86 m long, 11.45 m wide and 3.65 m high and was ordered by a company from Holland.
'This year the shipbuilders in Orsova will also export another 13 river-going ships to the traditional partners from Holland, Germany and Austria,' added Badoiu.
According to the above-mentioned source, the shipyard in Orsova estimates 8.4 million lei in net profit and investments amounting to about seven million lei (1 euro=4.23 lei) for 2009 despite the prolongation of the current economic crisis.
