Siemens Romania takes over IT division of Forte Business Services

The former branch of Siemens IT Solutions and Services since April 1 has become part of Siemens Romania, according to an official release of the company.

Following the merger, the 'Forte - a Siemens company' brand was replaced with the Siemens group's brand. Thus, once the agreement was sealed, there ended the transition interval that had begun in March 2005, when the acquisition by the IT Services and Solutions division of Siemens group of the local Forte Company system integrator had become effective.

According to the abovementioned source, the new division at Siemens Romania will be managed by the former manager of Forte Business Services SRL Mihai Gherman and by the former commercial manager Bernd Spreter.

'This merger represents a step further for the new division of Siemens SRL, in the sense of repositioning the IT services sector on the domestic market and evolving from a local brand affiliated to a global one to become a brand of global notoriety itself,' Gherman said.

Siemens is the largest company in Romania operating in integrated and innovative solutions in such fields as energy, industry and health care. The Romanian branch of the company, headquartered in Bucharest, has 2,500 employees. In its turn, the Siemens IT Solutions and Services division benefits of the skills of 320 employees nationwide and also of the international experience of Siemens IT Solutions and Services.

In the 2007 fiscal year, concluded on September 30, 2008, Siemens Romania posted approx. 274 million euros in turnover, that is a growth by 33.2 percent against the same interval a year before. In the same time, the company's profit increased by 51.4 percent on 2006, climbing up to 5.3 million euros. The company provided building services to the Bucharest Business Park, Grand Marriott Hotel, Bucharest Business Center, Ina Schaeffler and Gedeon Richter Logistics Center.
