AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 10 Aprilie 2009
Minister of Communications and Information Society, Gabriel Sandu, and Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Trade and Environment, Constantin Nita, on Wednesday signed the Cooperation Protocol on the establishment and development of software parks 'IT&C'.
'The first advantage is the establishment of 5,0000 jobs in the IT&C field, which is more than beneficial in such difficult moments. As regards the companies, they will have the same tax facilities in the software technology parks as in the industrial parks. We'll provide the infrastructure, traditional and IT, including broadband access to the Internet. We are aiming to promote this project in the Government through a governmental decision,' said the minister of communications.
Within the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI), the project of development of software technology parks will be included in the National Broadband and IT Strategy.
The financing of software technology parks will be made from the budget of the Ministry of Communications and Information Society and Ministry for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Trade and Environment, from European funds and funds of the local authorities that will get involved in the project through public-private partnerships. Minister Gabriel Sandu said that also involved in the project should be the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Development.
Minister Gabriel Sandu held talks on this issue with the representatives of the main multinational companies present on the Romanian market, as well as with telecom operators.
'We had a meeting with representatives of the Romanian Academy, but also with members of the relevant universities, which agreed the project, understanding that the Ministry of Communications and Information Society is open to partnerships with the higher education institutions in view to the educational support of young IT&C experts,' said Gabriel Sandu.
