Romania's leu stabilizes at 4.1250 versus the euro at day-end, on a market dominated by apathy

Romania's national currency, the leu, settled at 4.1250 versus the single European currency on closing, after it floated slightly during the day, on a market dominated by apathy, as the neighbor markets are closed in the second day of the Catholic Easter.
The leu was traded for 4.1250 lei per euro at opening bell and then rose rapidly to 4.12. Banks were buying an euro with 4.1255 lei and selling it for 4.1305 lei at 4:30 p.m.
The reference exchange rate indicated by the central lender BNR upped to 4.1263 lei per euro today, after the national currency slipped 0.18 percent over the euro. The exchange rate also indicates a 0.18 percent climb of the leu versus the American currency, to 3.1286 lei per dollar.
On international markets, the U.S. dollar lowered gradually from 1.3128 to 1.3307 against the European currency and at 4:30 p.m. Romania's hour, the euro was traded for 1.3277 dollars.
BNR posted an average interbank bid rate (ROBID) of 9.48 percent a year, under the 9.54 percent of the previous session and the interbank offer rate for overnight deposits (ROBOR) sank to 9.98 percent, from 10.04 percent.
Interbank interests for overnight deposits dipped to 8.5 - 9.5 percent per year, below the annual key interest rate of 10 percent.
