BCR launches brokerage operations on German Stock Exchange

Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR) has recently launched brokerage activities on the German Stock Exchange, via Erste Bank, with this being the second foreign market, after the one in Vienna, on which the Romanian broker becomes active, Business Standard daily reads on Tuesday.
According to officials of the bank, the promotion of the foreign markets will be carried out in a more active manner, when the online international platform, now undergoing development, becomes functional.
'We will build a presentation of the important foreign markets as soon as we introduce the online trading platform we are working on. We want to make this platform international and to have it made in partnership with such a supplier to cover most of the world's big markets,' Valerian Ionescu, head of the BCR trade department explained.
He also informed the number of customers having carried out trades on the stock exchange in Frankfurt is still low, with a higher interest having been seen on the Austrian market.
Another projects the brokers from the BCR are seeking to develop on the local stock exchange is introducing of certain financial instruments to watch for support assets from third markets.
The BCR trade manager of BCR also added talks are currently being held over to this matter with institutions on the Romanian market related to the legislative framework, with the financial instruments to be introduced in end-2009, at the soonest.
BCR intermediated trades worth 48.9 million lei (11.8 million euros) from the beginning of 2009, ranking 12th in the top of the brokers from the Stock Exchange, the paper also reads.
