Irrigation system infrastructure, fishery and aquaculture were the main sectors examined during a meeting on Monday between the Romanian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Ilie Sarbu and a delegation of representatives of the Bank for Agricultural Development of the People's Republic of China.
At the same time, investments in vegetables and fruits storage spaces and forestry sector were also discussed. According to the Agriculture Minister, the talks were also focused on the identification of activity sectors in the agricultural and husbandry fields, which offer cooperation opportunities to Romania and China, the Chinese side wishing to finance commercial operations or joint production units destined to exports to the People's Republic of China.
Both sides concluded that the food and agricultural sector presents a significant potential for the strengthening of the commercial bilateral cooperation, Romania having real possibilities to develop its exports and to attract some massive investments.
The two sides decided to organize future visits, at technical level, of potential investors from the People's Republic of China to Romania.
The Chinese delegation visit to Romania is paid in the context of the opening, by the Chinese side, of the series of events occasioned by the celebration of 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic and friendly relations between Romania and the People's Republic of China, the meeting being aimed at bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, food industry and food security.
