PVC maker Teraplast to pump more than EUR 3.5m in industrial park in northern Romania

Romanian PVC producer Teraplast Bistrita (TRP) plans to invest more than 3.5 million euros in the company's industrial park in Saratel, northern county of Bistrita-Nasaud, where all its factories were relocated.
The investment program was proposed by the company's board and will be tackled at the shareholdering meeting on April 23.
According to the investment program for 2009, some 1.3 million euros will be spent for the pipe factory Fabrica de Tevi PP, as many as 700,000 euros for the PVC factory Fabrica de PVC and 332,000 euros for logistics. Other 234,000 euros will be invested into making a parking for large vehicles and for the administrative body and more than 112,000 euros will go to constructing a warehouse for packs and dangerous waste.
Teraplast is carrying out a large investment program started last year to move most production capacities from Bistrita to Saratel, where the company is developing an industrial park spreading over 22 hectares. The company targets to move all factories in Saratel this year, to expand products portfolio and to develop new divisions.
Teraplast is listed on the second tier of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) under the symbol TRP. Its main shareholders are Dorel Goia (33.15 percent), Emanoil Viciu (20.55 percent) and financial company SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) with 11.38 percent shares.
Teraplast recorded a net profit of 19.47 million lei last year, up 19.33 percent over the previous. Its turnover amounted to 195.43 million lei, 5.11 percent higher compared to the end of 2007, when business reached 185.79 million lei.
