BNR: Households liabilities to banks exceed RON 1.3 bln

The delays in payment for more than 30 days advanced by 34.9 per cent in the first two months, to RON 1.324 bln. In February, most of them in RON, out of which the total volume of loans within which payments delayed by more than 90 days advanced by 39 per cent, to RON 1.088 bln, based on BNR data. Thus, the payment delays which exceeded 90 days, at the end of February, accounted for 82 per cent of the total value of liabilities, compared to 80.4 per cent in January and to 79.7 per cent in December.
The delays by more than 90 days resulting from households advanced in February by 20.26 per cent compared to January and by 2.5 times more compared to the same month of 2008. There are 515,506 individuals having delays over 30 days, at the end of February, by 6.7 per cent more than compared to January and by 14.68 per cent more than in December. The number of delays advanced by 7.9 per cent compared to the previous month and by 17.4 per cent compared to the end of last year, up to 739,277.
The value of liabilities due over 30 days advanced, in February, by 17.6 per cent compared to January, from RON 1.125 bln to RON 1.324 bln. The most numerous liabilities at more than 30 days, registered in February at RON loans, accounting for 71.5 per cent of the total, but the value of delays for EUR loans and other foreign currencies advanced faster.
Thus, the payment delays exceeding 30 days to households RON loans were RON 948 M worth, by 15.4 per cent more compared to January and by 29.1 per cent more compared to December. At the same time, the households liabilities for EUR loans were accounting for 26 per cent, in February, out of the total number of delays by more than 30 days, but their value, RON 344.8 M, advanced by over 24 per cent compared to January and by 52.8 per cent compared to end of last year and by 3.9 times as against the same month of 2008. In case of USD loans, the liabilities for more than 30 days were RON 3.798 M worth, at the end of February, by 25.58 per cent and by 54 per cent more compared to January and to December 2008 respectively. The value of the liabilities due tripled compared to the same month of 2008. A faster growth rate was noted in case of households' liabilities due for loans in other currencies.
