HVB Housing Bank cashes state interest bonus for client savings

HVB Housing Bank cashed the state interest bonus due for the 2008 savings of its clients, worth almost 500,000 euros.

In the first five years of the institution's operation, HVB Housing Bank clients collected a combined EUR 1.5 million in state interest bonuses.

Starting 2009, the state interest bonus is 25pc of the annual savings (yet no more than the equivalent in domestic lei of 250 euros). The maximum bonus is now payable to all clients of savings-credit banks, regardless of their age and/or number of children.

HVB Housing Bank will merge with Raiffeisen Housing Bank in a process that should be completed in Q3 2009.
