Ford to invest in Drobeta Turnu Severin

Ford Craiova carmaker will create 60 jobs at its new branch in Drobeta Turnu Severin (southwestern Romania) in May, when the building works are due to be finished, city mayor Constantin Gheorghe told Agerpres on Monday.

About 4 million euros was invested in the related infrastructure located in the northeastern side of Drobeta Turnu Severin Municipality, Gheorghe stressed.

'The new economic unit on our city's map is expected to attract considerable money from taxes and fees, to the local budget,' he added.

In his opinion, other investments will be completed in Drobeta Turnu Severin, this year as well, which is to diminish the unemployment rate that currently stands at almost 11 percent.
