Investors urge capital market watchdog to put up for debate the project to reauthorize Rasdaq
NewsIn - 8 Mai 2009
The capital market investors association AIPC asked the market watchdog CNVM to publicly debate the draft bill sent to the Finance Ministry regarding the reauthorization of the Rasdaq over-the-counter-market as a regulated market, an AIPC release reads.
Investors consider it is the CNVM duty to inform market participants of the existence of this draft as well as of the criteria that set the ground for writing it.
"We are unpleasantly surprised at the lack of transparency the authorities show in this issue in relation with investors, which represent the main factor on any capital market," investors say.
AIPC says it sent CNVM last year a regulation draft on the reauthorization of the Rasdaq market as a regulated market but did not receive any legal answer concerning the issue.
"Rasdaq is unfairly regarded as a Cinderella of the capital market and any wrong legislative measure could cause serious material damages," the association declared.
The amendments brought by CNVM refer to the total transformation of Rasdaq into an alternative trading system.
The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) is currently managing two markets: the regulated one and the Rasdaq market.
