Romanian stocks fall steeply after first opening deals on the Bucharest Stock Exchange

Romanian stocks open in the red today the market slipping by an average 2.14 percent after the first deals, affected by slumps on global markets.

The BET index of the ten best companies on the Bucharest bourse went down 1.84 percent to 3,210.98 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies dropped 2.14 percent to 2,075.97.

The five financial companies known as SIF and measured by the BET-FI index plunged 3.66 percent to 17,935.53 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna dropped 1.55 percent to 6,605.71.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks decreased 2.46 percent to 322.22 and the BET-NG index of the ten power companies dropped 1.49 percent to 464.12.
