Romanians double acquisitions on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in April, to lei 434.33m

Local players bought significantly on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) in April and doubled acquisitions compared to the previous month, to 434.33 million lei, while foreigners' enthusiasm remained tempered, according to BSE's statistics.

Romanians were also the most important sellers on BSE in the past month, after giving way securities worth 431.59 million lei.

Local investors bought securities worth 220.42 million lei in March and sold of 216.35 million lei.

Foreign investors hiked acquisitions by only 17 percent in April, to 93.96 million lei. Sales reached 93.11 million lei.

Indexes on BSE continued to follow an upward trend in April and the marked advanced 25.69 percent, while the sector of the five financial companies known as SIF had a spectacular boost of 71.78 percent. The most liquid shares on Romania's core bourse added 28.78 percent.
