Bucharest hosts South-East European Financial Forum

More than 250 business people, banking executives and politicians are attending the 6th edition of the South-East European Financial Forum on the future of money, hosted by Bucharest City May 19-22.

The participants discuss how to speed up the accession of European Union structural funds, and how to increase the amounts of money for less red tape so as to increase the efficiency of money. The future of the luxury market in a time of crisis also tackled, including banking services, insurance services, security services and individual tourism services. Talks will also focus on the 209-2011 economic projections.

The attendees discusses investing in sustainable business, the future of the Central and Eastern European stock exchanges, redefining the role of commercial companies adjusted for the investment risks existing in the region. Also approached will be the insurance business in a time of crisis and how profitable insurance is.

Attending the eventare US Nobel prize winner Joseph Stiglitz, the former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers during the Clinton Administration, and economic adviser to incumbent US President Barack Obama.

Scheduled to attend the forum are Governor of the National Bank of Romania Mugur Isarescu; Romania's Public Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea; Romanian Minister for European Affairs Vasile Puscas; Chairman of the Romanian Senate Mircea Geoana; International Monetary Fund representative for Romania and Bulgaria Tony Lybek; former chairman of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors John Ashcroft, and Romanian prime minister's adviser Ionut Popescu.

Also participating are Governor of the National Bank of Bulgaria Kalin Hristov; Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Romania Eugen Dijmarescu; Bucharest General Mayor Sorin Oprescu and Romanian senator Varujan Vosganian.
