Non-governmental crediting, down 1 pc in April

Non-governmental crediting balance, given by the loan institutions, was down 1.0 percent in April (minus 1.3 percent in real terms) from March, to the level of 200.553 billion lei, announced on Wednesday Romania's National Bank (BNR).
Lei-denominated (national currency) credit was down 0.5 percent (minus 0.8 percent in real terms), whereas forex-denominated credit dropped 1.4 percent (expressed in euro, forex credit was down 0.2 percent).
On April 30, 2009 the non-governmental credit surged by 18.9 percent (11.7 percent in real terms) from April 30, 2008 on the account of an increase of 7.8 percent of the component in lei (1.3 percent in real terms) and by 28.0 percent of the forex component expressed in lei (expressed in euros, the forex crediting jumped 12.5 percent).
