Romanian bank card market up by 1 million units

This is the first time when the annual growth pace drops to below 10 percent, to 8.4 percent. In the past five years, this pace dropped from 25 percent in 2003 to about 18 percent in 2007.

This is also the first time when the bank card is the main source an the increase in the card portfolio.

The value of the valid credit cards went up by 540,000 and that of the valid debit cards by 500,000.
