State no longer needs to deal with professional reconversion
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 10 Iunie 2009
The state has to go out of the combination of professional reconversion, and responsibility has to be re-directed towards the companies willing to make employments, said, on Tuesday, minister of Labour, Family and Social Security (MMFPS) Marian Sarbu, at a debate with representatives of the business environment of Romania.
'I seriously think to transfer soon the responsibility of the professional reconversion towards the employer, for training the future employees, ' said Sarbu.
The Labour minister added that the cut in the fiscal contributions could take place from one day to another, but one has to take into account the period Romania is crossing. 'If tomorrow, we cut by 25 percent, the fiscal contributions, we need not to get out of the general context we are in, said the official of the MMFPS. He added that the problem of taxation on the workforce will be approached at the level of ministry in the following few years.
'As regards the funds allotted to Romania for the development of the field of labour, the minister mentioned that from a total of four billion euros which can be accessed from the European Union (EU) in this field, two billion already are available on the segment of training or the development of business. In the context, Sarbu said that the private environment is 'on the defensive'.
Also, as regards the labour existing now, Sarbu believes that Romania does not suffer only as regards quantity, but also as regards quality. 'The discontent of the employees as regards the Labour Code was very much focused on the aspect of the quantity of the problems. Most notifications that arrived at the Ministry regard the tens of un-favourable contract articles, ' mentioned Sarbu.
The representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection met, on Tuesday, with the members of the Private Government in order to talk about the Labour Code and for identifying solutions for countering the effects of the economic crisis in the field of human resources. During the meeting, the focus was on the problems concerning the regulations and the correlation of flexible contract commissions with the new structure of the market of workforce, as well as on solutions for a cut in the high level of bureaucracy of the Labour Code.
