Net assets of investment funds - 1.49 billion lei

Net assets of investment funds hit a record high, 1.49 billion lei in May, according to figures of the Romanian Fund Administrator Association.

The assets of the open-end investments funds exceeded for the first time the threshold of one billion lei, record high on March 31.

In April, investors subscribed as many as 256.9 million lei in monetary funds (low-risk open-end investment funds), whilst net subscriptions (the difference between subscriptions and buybacks) stood at 182.8 million lei, a record high of monthly net subscriptions in the sector of mutual funds.

In May, monetary funds reported net subscriptions of 160 million lei, over 38 million euros.

The number of investors grew in May by over 6.7 percent, reaching 114,027 investors, most being in closed-end funds - 90,920 and in diversified funds - 47,426.
