SIF Transilvania and SIF Moldova negotiate their way out of Bancpost, follow SIF Oltenia's lead

Romania's financial companies SIF Transilvania (SIF3) and SIF Moldova (SIF2) are currently negotiating with the majority owner of Bancpost, the Greek financial group EFG Eurobank, to sell the stocks they own in the Romanian lender, declared today the SIF Transilvania head, Mihai Fercala.
SIF Oltenia (SIF5) announced earlier today it sold the stake it owned in Bancpost, representing 3.49 percent of the lender's share capital, as well as a stock in the process of being issued.
The financial company will cash in some 12.15 million euros, in two installments. Some 9 million euros will be received in the following three days and the rest until September 15 the latest.
Bancpost is majority owned by EFG Eurobank, with an 84.73 percent stake. Four investment funds (SIF Banat-Crisana, SIF Moldova, SIF Transilvania and SIF Oltenia) owned a cumulated 14 percent of the bank's shares.
The EFG Eurobank group reported a net loss of 4.1 million euros in the first quarter from its business in Romania. The total assets managed by the Greek group in Romania amounted to 6.066 billion euros at the end of the first quarter, up 35 percent on the similar period last year.
