Eurelectric: Romania has a low vulnerability in energy field
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 16 Iunie 2009
Romania has a low vulnerability as for the challenges in the energy sector, at global level, because it has domestic resources which secures its power supply, stated on Monday vice-president of Eurelectric Fluvio Conti in the company-organized conference.
'Romania holds domestic resources securing citizens and industrial consumption', added Fulvio Conti.
Globally, the development of technologies, set to diversify energy sources and resources, is needed', Conti said.
Eurelectric vice-president added that the Romanian authorities must continue the privatization process in the energy field.
'Privatizations must continue in the energy generating field, not only distribution. The Romanian Government must privatize the many state-held companies in order to boost investments in the energy field', stated Fulvio Conti.
'The European legislative provisions ruling the energy and climate field reunite 27 national policies on renewable energy. Annually, 17 billion euros could be saved, throughout 2020, from the costs paid by the final electricity consumer. In this context, the authorities must use the mechanisms offered by the European directives, a move set to help the integration at regional level in this sector', stated in a press conference Eurelectric president Lars Josefsson.
