Romania's SIF Moldova to cash in EUR 12.71m after selling stake in Bancpost

Romania's financial company SIF Moldova (SIF2) sold today the 3.48 percent of the Bancpost share capital it held to the Greek group EFG Eurobank, in exchange for 12.71 million euros.
The package included 76.16 million Bancpost shares and 18.59 million shares originated through a capital rise. The company will receive 9.61 million euros in coming days and 3.1 million euros by October 5.
SIF Transilvania (SIF3) and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) announced at the end of last week that they sold their 3.49 percent participations in Bancpost and received 12.75 million euros each. SIF Oltenia (SIF5) also sold its shares two weeks ago and got 12.15 million euros.
The financial companies held together almost 14 percent of the Bancpost share capital. The Greek group now owns over 98.5 percent.
EFG Eurobank scored a net loss of 4.1 million euros on business in Romania during the first quarter. Total assets administered by the group in Romania amounted after the first three months to 6.066 billion euros, 35 percent up from March 31 2008, when they stood at 4.491 billion euros.
