JVC wants to grow to 9.5 million euros in Romania
ACT Media – news agency - 24 Iunie 2009
JVC Romania wants to increase business of local and Bulgarian offices with electronic equipment to 9.5 million euros in 2009, 11% more than in 2008 in the conditions in which the electronics market will suffer a drop of over 35%, said Bogdan Pasat, the JVC marketing and sales director for Romania and Bulgaria.
The business figure registered in 2008 was high for video cameras - 8.5 million euros. This figure includes the Bulgarian market too, as the activity of the two countries is coordinated by the Romanian office and the business percentage is equally divided by the two countries. In 2009the company counts on a business increase and the 9.5 million euros will be divided between the two markets. The extensive development of JVC Romania began in 2008 with the opening of the new local office.
While until 2008 we concentrated on maintaining a share of 12-13% for video cameras and 25% for audio, this year we want to diversify the product range and expand the coverage area of retail stores and increase the JVC market share in the quality product area for all categories", said Bogdan Pasat. As for the profit target for 2009 he says he would be satisfied even with a margin of 1%.In April and June the business of JVC Romania dropped by 20%. "The worst scenario for the whole year is a drop of 20%", Pasat says.
Video cameras and car audio equipment registered 40% each of the JVC Romania business in 2008, the rest being represented by LCDs and accessories. For 2009 JVC estimates a share of 2% in the LCD market. In Romania, the overall electronic product market will be 300 million euros, of which 200 million euros will be represented by the LCD and plasma TV sets. "Because of aggressive buy-back campaigns the market woke up after the first months of the year. In exchange, the market of other categories like video cameras or car audios dropped by 50%. Now Romanians are buying basic products, attentively following promotions and are more interested in price. For that reason products in the step-up segment are mostly affected ", Pasat said.
JVC Romania is supervised by JVC International GmbH Vienna. JVC International supervises all sales activities in Eastern and central Europe in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Romania and Bulgaria. The sales, promotion and marketing activities in Romania and Bulgaria are organized and coordinated by the local Romanian office set up last year. JVC is among the first three producers at European level in point of sales for several important categories such as video cameras, home audio systems, audio and multimedia equipment for cars and accessories.
