AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 1 Iulie 2009
Bucharest, June 30 /Agerpres. - The appetite of Romanians for a good coffee, drunk in a first-class coffee shop, does not seem to have suffered because of the economic recession, which has been installed for several months in Romania as well, writes on Monday daily Evenimentul Zilei.
As a proof stands the decision of Starbucks Coffee Company, and of his European partner Marinopoulos Group, to open, in Timisoara, the seventh Starbucks coffee shop in Romania.
According to officials of the company, this year opened will be, in various countries, 20 new coffee shops, one of them in Romania. This is because the domestic market still is under development.
The market of coffee shops in Romania is clearly characterized by an upward trend. It has a remarkable potential, is very dynamic, very animated and ready to receive new players and new concepts. So, we believe it will continue to grow at high speed. By comparison with the European markets, the local market of coffee shops still is under development. We are studying very carefully the current economic situation and we are aware of its implications, both at a global and at a local level. At the same time, we are very carefully evaluating the traits of each local market, and our policy is to have our operations expanded where our clients want to find us, ' explains the decision to invest in a new coffee shop Viorel Stoian, district manager of Marinopoulos Coffee Company.
